Technology that barely existed eighteen months ago is rapidly becoming part of mainstream software infrastructure.

Risks Associated With Autonomy

Greater autonomy also introduces greater risk.

If a chatbot gives an incorrect answer, the consequences are usually limited.

If an AI agent sends an email to the wrong recipient, executes an unintended transaction, or deletes important information after misunderstanding an instruction, the impact can be much more serious. The level of risk depends largely on the permissions the agent has.
